Recycling has never been more rewarding. Our community is full of recycling superheroes who are cleaning up and doing so much more to protect our environment. At the same time, they’re raising money through the ACT Container Deposit Scheme (ACT CDS) to achieve their goals and dreams.
The scheme has seen millions of bottles and cans returned for a refund of 10 cents per container. That’s millions of drink containers diverted from becoming litter or landfill. Once returned, they are recycled into new bottles, cans, jackets, jeans and even aeroplane wings
All this is made possible because of the many passionate local recycling heroes in Canberra.
